Meet The Team

Jackson Roder grew up in the blue-collar heart of Northwest Iowa, where hard work and resilience were ingrained in him from an early age. He began his journey at Grand Canyon University’s Finance and Economics Club in 2023 as a mentee in the program. His dedication and strategic mindset led to his promotion as Director of Marketing in the spring of 2024, where he spearheaded the new identity of the club. In the spring of 2025, Jackson was promoted to Senior Vice President, a position he currently holds, while also serving as a Senior Analyst in the club’s $5 million investment portfolio. His background instilled in him a passion for financial literacy and helping others build strong financial foundations. Jackson is committed to making finance accessible to all students, regardless of their major or background, and is actively working to expand the club’s reach beyond finance students through personal finance initiatives and large-scale events.

Michael, a sophomore from a suburb outside Chicago, Illinois, learned early the importance and power of financial literacy. Raised in a single-mother household of five, he faced financial struggles and the loss of his oldest brother. Inspired by his mother, who relied on faith to persevere and provide him with the opportunity to attend college, he developed a strong sense of ambition and work ethic. A three-year varsity wrestler and key player on an historically successful team, his competitive spirit fueled his passion for finance. He began by day trading and managing investments for peers, sharpening his sales skills. His professional growth accelerated when he became one of Illinois' top-performing sales advisors within months at a Delta Sonic Car Wash. In college, he joined the Finance and Econ Club as well as the $5 million Student Managed Investment Fund, advancing to Executive Director and Sector Head of Financials.

Noah Muhirwa is a junior at Grand Canyon University studying Finance & Economics. Noah was born in Kigali, Rwanda but resides in Illinois, where in middle school he discovered his love for finance and entrepreneurship. During his freshman year at GCU he joined the Finance & Economics club and became a mentee. There he rose to being director of event operations and eventually in serving as the secretary of the club and running his own mentee group. His sophomore year he immersed himself into the Student Run Investment Portfolio with now $5 million AUM, starting as sector head and helped build out the industrials sector, and is now the portfolio manager. Outside of his involvement in the fund and the club, Noah loves playing soccer, tennis and basketball, catching up on movies and hanging out with friends. Noah’s career goal is to run his own multinational conglomerate, investing in great companies and to give back to his community back in Rwanda.

Andrew Huizen is a senior at Grand Canyon University and serves as the President of the Finance & Economics Club. Originally from a small town in Michigan, he took a leap of faith moving across the country for college, determined to challenge himself and grow. Through hard work and persistence, he has gained experience in finance and leadership, but his true purpose goes beyond career ambitions. Andrew is here to spread the word of Jesus, work as hard as he can wherever life takes him, and, one day, be the best husband and father imaginable. He leads the club with a focus on professional development, meaningful connections, and helping students discover opportunities in business.

Sara is dedicated to empowering women in finance. At Grand Canyon University, she works tirelessly to create a supportive community that encourages more women to pursue careers in finance. Her goal is to foster an environment where students can uplift one another and thrive professionally.

Sara is also a part of the Grand Canyon University Student Investment Fund, where she continues to expand her knowledge and skills. In addition to her academic pursuits, she takes great pride in mentoring and guiding fellow students, helping them unlock their potential and navigate the world of finance. Looking forward to a new year of growth, learning, and leadership, Sara is excited to continue contributing to her community and making an impact in the world of finance.

Originally from Southern Idaho, Cadence is a first year junior at Grand Canyon University, studying a bachelors degree in Business Administration. As a the Vice President of Marketing for Finance and Econ Club’s, she’s excited to help grow the club’s presence and connect more students with financial education and opportunities. With experience in social media management and fitness instruction, Cadence has a passion for bringing people together through both business and wellness. Rooted in Faith, she believes in hard work, integrity, and using her skills to serve others. In the future, she hopes to build her own Pilates business, explore entrepreneurial ventures, and create a career that blends her love for fitness, marketing, and financial success.

Jack Edlin is a junior at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Finance with an emphasis in Financial Planning. He is actively involved at Grand Canyon University, serving as the treasurer for both the Finance and Economics Club and the Financial Planning Association. He is also the Director of Finance for TEDxGrandCanyonUniversity, the largest privately held TEDx event in Arizona! In addition to these leadership roles, he also enjoys playing on GCU’s club pickleball team, and attending sporting events with friends, all while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Edlin says, “By incorporating Scripture into financial planning, we can ensure we are good stewards, love our neighbors, and properly manage God’s blessings.”

Ella Turner is a sophmore at Grand Canyon University, pursuing a Finance degree with an emphasis in Financial Planning. Ella is the director of marketing for the Finance and Economics Club and the Financial Planning Club. She joined the club as a mentee in the Fall of 2024 and quickly got involved with whatever she could. Originally from a small town in Northwest Iowa called Spirit Lake, Ella grew up playing almost every sport and being involved with as many extracurriculars as she could. In high school, she was a two-time basketball captain and four-year letter winner. Ella always prided herself on being a well-rounded student-athlete. Ella not only held the three-point record at Spirit Lake but was also 1 of 26 athletes to be selected to First Team Academic All-State her senior year. Growing up on the lake, Ella developed a love for all things watersports, including water skiing, surfing, and jet skiing. Ella owns Lakeside Services, a business dedicated to tackling the invasive aquatic vegetation issue in Spirit Lake. With a heart for serving others, Ella is passionate about helping future clients steward their wealth

Reagan Angus is a junior at Grand Canyon University, pursuing a degree in finance. Born and raised in Ankeny, Iowa, she comes from a blended family with a strong background in finance—her mother and brother both working in the industry. Although she was introduced to finance at a young age, her passion for the field truly emerged during her freshman year of college, leading her to switch from business administration to finance. Wanting to get more involved, she joined the Finance and Economics Club mentee program, which helped her deepen her understanding of the field. Through freshman year of college, Reagan played volleyball, where she developed discipline, teamwork, and a strong work ethic. She is passionate about leadership and strives to be a positive and uplifting manager who makes a meaningful impact within an organization. Faith is a central part of her life, and she is committed to reflecting the love of Jesus through her actions in the workplace. Outside of academics, she enjoys spending time with family, exploring the outdoors, and encouraging those around her. 

Jaron Castellanos became a member of the Mentee Program in the fall of 2024, where he gained valuable insights from the directors and mentors of the club. Promoted to Associate, Jaron currently serves as a Bloomberg Ambassador and the Relationship Manager. Pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Finance through the Colangelo College of Business, Jaron is committed to academic and professional development. He is also involved in several clubs and programs at GCU, including the Student Managed Investment Fund, Men of Valor, and the Canyon Artificial Intelligence Research group. Outside of academics, Jaron is an active member of the GCU Men’s Club Golf Travel Team and enjoys hiking and physical fitness. Aiming to maintain his position within the Honors College, Jaron is focused on continuously growing through experience and learning.
